Sid Meier’s Pirates! drops anchors at App Store for iPad
Sid Meier’s Pirates! returns to gaming today with the series’ debut on the iPad. The 17th-century action-adventure title puts gamers in the pegleg of a pirate out to save their family from the Marquis de la Montalban. Captains will be able to raid the Caribbean and take part in a host of mini-games, from sword fighting to dancing. While Pirates! is compatible with both models, the iPad 2 does have some exclusive features, including optimized graphics, the ability to “piratize” photos to display on ships, and Game Center support.

Rayman Origins ventures to Comic-Con, scores new screenshots
Rayman Origins is currently making the rounds at Comic-Con, and to make sure everyone is suitably excited about Michel Ancel’s return to platform gaming, Ubisoft has released some new screenshots. Origins, set to ship this holiday for the 360, PS3, and Wii, will feature four-player co-op sidescrolling action and reveal more about Rayman’s past.

Just Dance 3 – new tracks, modes announced at Comic-Con
Ubisoft showed off Just Dance 3 at Comic-Con today, debuting new tracks and the new Kinect-supported modes Just Create and Four Player Mode. Attendees itching to cut a rug can try the game for themselves at Ubisoft’s booth, #4245, between 9 a.m – 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition dated, trailer released
Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition will be making its way onto the 360 and PS3 later this summer. The download-only brawler will launch on August 23 on PSN and on August 24 on Live.
