Tor has had a busy week. In addition to Comic-Con, the company has not only released a new title expanding the BioShock universe but also details on the upcoming Halo: Primordium and The Moon Maze Game. The big news, though, is the release of BioShock: Rapture. Penned by John Shirley (Eclipse, Black Glass), Rapture is a prequel to the first game and details Andrew Ryan’s rise and the founding of the now-famous underwater city. Gamers interested to find out more about life before the civil war can pick up a copy for $14.99.
Candygun Games’ Dead Block, styled a ‘zombie defense game,’ recently launched on Live Arcade and now it’s the PS3’s turn. Publisher Digital Reality has sent word that the undead have reached PSN and are clamoring for some bra(aaaaaaa)ins.
A nice surprise out of Sega today with the announcement of an Aliens sidescroller. Can’t say I wouldn’t mind 2D-ing it up against some xenomorphs. Set to release next year for the DS, Aliens: Infestation is being developed by WayForward, with some assistance from Colonial Marines developer Gearbox Software, and will feature character design by artist Chris Bachalo (Generation X, Ultimate X-Men).
GoldenEye 007 is making its way to the 360 and PS3 this fall as GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, a revamped version of the Wii rerelease. Developer Eurocom returns to the series with a new engine, allowing for HD visuals and 60 frames per second, and Move functionality. The game will also include new Mi6 Ops Missions, where players must tackle Assault, Elimination, Stealth, and Defense objectives in new levels. Multiplayer also returns with new weapons, maps, characters, and modes, as well as support for four-player split-screen and 16-player online.

It looks as though Jackie Estacado’s adventures won’t be continuing as soon as we thought. 2K Games has announced that The Darkness II has been pushed back from October 4 to February 7. The first-person shooter is currently in development at Digital Extremes, who are no doubt refining the many ways in which sentient demon arms can gut a man, and will pick up some time after the original, with Jackie now the head of a crime family.
