PS3 gamers with an itch for Black Ops have been waiting a while to get back in the fight, but just in time for the PS Network’s full restoration is a release date for the latest DLC pack, Escalation. Activision has announced that the four-multiplayer map, Zombie-heavy release will launch on the PS Store on June 10. To celebrate the launch, Treyarch is hosting a Double XP weekend event, similar to what PC gamers are currently enjoying, starting on June 10.
The four maps include Hotel, which takes place on the rooftop of a Cuban luxury hotel and casino; Convey, a close-quarters map set on the site of an ambushed U.S. convoy; Zoo, set in an abandoned Soviet Russian zoo; and Stockpile, which has players battling it out in a remote Russian farm town in an effort to storm and defend hidden WMD facilities. Lastly, Call of the Dead will extend the Zombie experience by including George A. Romero, Robert Englund, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael Rooker, and Danny Trejo in a zombie-hunting map set in Siberia. Avenged Sevenfold provide a new track (Not Ready to Die) for the occasion.
