Did you know that Nemesys Games snuck zombies into Fortix 2? For as much shambling as they do, zombies sure do get around. If you’re looking to score a few for the living, Zombie Mode Unleashed can be accessed by “harassing the semi musical bird on the title screen.” After the bird has been suitably annoyed, an undead-infested Fortix will load where you must face an ever-multiplying horde of flesh-eaters.
Gaijin Entertainment, developer of IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey and Apache: Air Assault, is gearing up to release another flight sim for the 360 and PS3, Birds of Steel. Konami has announced that they will be publishing the upcoming WWII flight sim, though an exact release date was not given. In addition to historical and fictional campaigns, the game will also include a dynamic online campaign, co-op strike campaigns, Capture the Airfield missions, tournament play, and 16-player team deathmatch versus.
THQ has revealed the box art for Relic’s upcoming third-person action release, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Nothing like seeing an Ork getting a good what for. Space Marine is scheduled to ship later this summer for the 360, PC, and PS3.
Oddworld fans will be happy to hear that the series will be returning this year in the form of two enhanced rereleases for the PS3. The PS Network will play host to 2001’s Munch’s Oddysee this fall and 2005’s Stranger’s Wrath later this summer. Stranger’s Wrath will feature “enhanced HD graphics” and both will include a “host” of unspecified new features.
Sony will be selling a new PlayStation 3 Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle later this month. The limited bundle will go on sale on May 31 for $299.99 and include a 160 GB PS3 system, a copy of Black Ops, and the First Strike Content Pack. Note that the latest DLC pack, Escalation, is not yet available for the PS3.
Some more news on the Trenched front. Double Fine has sent word that their upcoming third-person action and tower defense-r will be launching on Live on June 22 for 1200 MS Points. To get a better idea of what it’ll be like to be a soldier in the Mobile Trench Brigade, and to kick off today’s announcement with the appropriate amount of panache, the studio released the game’s opening cutscene on their Youtube channel.
