Need for Speed World, the free-to-play online racer from Play4Free and EA, is getting a new addition to its mode line-up today: Team Escape. Team Escape allows teams of four to join together in order to make it past police roadblocks, spike strips, and rhino SUVs. The mode also adds two new power-ups: Team Emergency Evade and Team Slingshot. Emergency Evade is more powerful than the regular evade, handy for getting a friend out of a jam, while Team Slingshot allows for a team-wide burst of speed.
Dolby’s Axon voice technology is also going to be adopted shortly, allowing for players to “stay in constant contact as they organize objectives, create race strategies and perfect escape tactics without requiring a separate application or any drain on bandwidth.” Additional customization options were also launched, allowing players to personalize their cars with window tints, underbody neons, license plates, wheels, and lowering kits.
Need for Speed World brings together best-in-class action racing with an unparalleled social experience on the PC. Players can compete against their friends and family or pick from thousands of players to challenge in intense online battles and police pursuits. Gamers race the way they want in an ever-expanding world with a constant stream of new content, cars, and features.
