Transformers: Dark of the Moon announced, set to roll out this summer

With the first trailers hitting the big and small screen for Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon, it was only a matter of time before Activision officially announced development of a tie-in title. High Moon Studios, developers of War for Cybertron, have returned to the series and are currently working on the 360 and PS3 release, which should come as good news to the fans. 3DS, DS, and Wii development duties are being handled by Behaviour Interactive, formerly Artificial Mind and Movement.

The game will serve as a prequel to the film, detailing the events that lead up to Bay’s final outing. One new addition to the series is the Stealth Force conversion mode, which will allow the Transformers to combine elements of both forms by allowing them to use the weapons of robot mode with the agility of vehicle mode. Revealed locales include South America, Siberia, and, as a natural follow-up to the first two, Detroit. War for Cybertron’s popular multiplayer modes will also be returning, but no additional details were made available. Fans can look forward to checking out both the film and the game this summer.
