Mortal Kombat live-action series gets Ryan, Shahlavi, and White

The upcoming live-action Mortal Kombat digital series from Mortal Kombat: Rebirth director Kevin Tancharoen and Warner Premiere, set to launch online this spring, is getting a bit of continuity with its unofficial predecessor with the announcement that both Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan are reprising their roles as Sonya Blade and Jax. Also announced was Darren Shahlavi of 300 as the laser-eyed, heart-removing thug Kano.

Mortal Kombat, the next gaming installment, is also on track for its April 19 release. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, which is led by franchise co-creator Ed Boon, the Warner Bros.-published title will ship for the 360 and PS3.
