R.U.S.E, Ubisoft’s upcoming Eugen Systems-developed real-time strategy title, is set to ship on September 7 for 360, PC, and PS3, but PC gamers can try it out today with a new demo.
Available through Steam, the demo features a full, custom mission which pits the U.S. Army against Germany and Italy. The goal is to “combine deceptive strategies and eventually resort to nuclear strikes to achieve victory.”
R.U.S.E is a one-of-a-kind real-time strategy game that allows players to bluff their enemies in order to lead their nation to victory, controlling and viewing the action using views that range seamlessly from the heart of the battlefield to the full theatre of war. Players will be plunged into the action thanks to the exclusive IRISZOOMTM Engine which offers an intuitive interface that allows for smooth, rapid transitions from a bird’s-eye view of the entire conflict to battlefield views, and vice versa.
R.U.S.E reinvigorates the genre by using deception to give newfound depth to the gameplay. In R.U.S.E, players use their brain as the ultimate weapon, fighting a war of perception and strategy, where the ability to deceive and mislead the enemy will determine a player’s success, a first in a strategy game.
