Activision has announced the next installment in the long-running Tony Hawk franchise, Tony Hawk: SHRED. There is a twist this time around as Shred is being targeted to a younger audience, and it will use Ride’s motion-sensing board controller. The game will have “an arcade style look and feel” with “larger-than-life moments and a veritable assortment of jaw-dropping tricks.”
In development for the 360, PS3, and Wii, Shred will feature a host of pros in addition to Tony Hawk, including Lyn-z Adams Hawkins, Corey Duffel, Sean Malto, David Gonzalez, Geoff Rowley, Stevie Williams and Chaz Ortiz; and snowboarders Travis Rice, Louie Vito and Olympic Gold Medalist Torah Bright. In addition, Miis and Live Avatars can also be imported. It’s an arcade-oriented Ride designed for gamers of all ages. Players can check out Shred when it hits store shelves this holiday season.
