Dance! Dance! Three cheers, DDR fans, as Konami has announced that DanceDanceRevolution will finally be hitting the PlayStation 3. Set for a fall release, DDR will include 45 tracks as well as features that take advantage of the full line of PS3 peripherals, including the PlayStation Move and PlayStation EYE. The set list will include 20 licensed songs and 25 new tracks from Konami artists. There will also be new game modes (Dance Off and Club Mode), additional difficulty levels, enhanced graphics, and recording features. Players can share their recordings with friends via Youtube, Facebook, and with the PS3 using the system’s new Video Editor & Uploader.
Fan-favorite modes are returning as well, including Workout Mode, which allows players to “easily manage their personal information and watch their calories melt away on a calorie display located at the results screen.”
Weight loss is a particular point of pride for the series, as its use in schools and fitness programs has spread, starting in West Virginia and recently finding its way into the 2010 California Governor’s Fitness Challenge. For fans out in West Virginia, the West Virginia Children Health Insurance Program and Sony and partnering with Konami for the 2010 DanceDanceRevolution West Virginia State Championship Tournament.
