Square Enix to launch online manga store, Comic-Con demo and samples announced

Access to the store will be through the company’s site and require an account (registration is free). The company decided to use their current system to integrate the purchase of manga with the gaming and gaming-related items currently available, taking advantage of “the online distribution infrastructure originally developed for its games business, along with the company's existing payment system and online fan communities.” Readers can try the service at Comic-Con, as well as download the first chapters of Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Black Butler and O-Parts Hunter free of charge on the company’s site before the service launches.

Additional details, including the number and pricing of titles available at launch, will be announced at a later date.

It’s manga tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!
