Need for Speed World launch date announced, Starter Pack released

Black Box has announced that Need for Speed World will be available for download on July 27 for the PC. World is an MMO that “combines the rush of illicit street racing, deep RPG style progression and vehicle customization into an immersive, socially-connected Need for Speed experience.” Players can compete against others from around the world in online battles and police pursuits across the game’s 150 miles.

Players can pre-order the Need for Speed World Starter Pack today at eastore.ea.com for $20 to gain early access to the game (today!). The Pack will also unlock exclusive cars, reserve the player’s driver names, allow full access up to level 50, a bundled assortment of power-ups, and have VIP status permanently displayed in their driver profile. The Pack also includes a credit for $20 worth of World’s in-game currency, SpeedBoost. Players can also purchase additional items like power-ups, double XP periods, and rental cars.

A free client download will also be available at world.needforspeed.com with full access to all races, pursuits, and cap of level 10.
